Football people tend to overexaggerate the importance of one or two results. Arsenal lose a game and the pundits pronounce they have no chance of winning the title. A couple of weeks and wins later, they’re backtracking.
Or take Manchester City, where Roberto Mancini goes from genius to gormless and back again every few games. [...]

After the win in midweek at crisis club Portsmouth – we return to St Andrews to face an Everton side who appear to be improving week by week.
With key players like Arteta returning, Everton have gone on a decent run. Landon Donovan has been another player who has made a big impact. He is on [...]

It looks as though Everton have given up hope of extending Landon Donovan’s loan spell at Goodison and the USA star will be sorely missed.
The forward has been like a breath of fresh air and it has been no coincidence that his arrival in December prompted a marked improvement of results. In fact the Blues [...]

Everton vs Birmingham – Lan-done?
Post from The Peoples Blog

Everton’s tip to the midlands this weekend will probably be the last game, of this season at least, for on loan American Landon Donovan. After Landon’s impressive spell at the club there have been calls for him to stay, but it would be unfair to ask Landon to do what we vilified Lescott for during [...]

So here we go, another chance to wax lyrical about a superb Everton Premier League performance. Everton have been dominant in recent games in England’s top tier, and despite their abysmal start to the season are just 8 points off 4th placed Spurs. Now I am not going to go on about ‘what might have [...]

The latest from the back pages…
1. Joe Cole open to move to Manchester United
Joey’s situation is well-documented. Carlo has all but chucked him to the side. His form, as well, has suffered greatly since Jan. 2009 (ligament injury). And, of course, his contract is up at the end of the season. The People reckons the [...]

Post from The Peoples Blog

So Sundays game against Hull City will more than likely be Landon Donavon’s last game for Everton, despite David Moyes going on record as saying he wanted to extend the stay of the on loan American.
LA Galaxy boss Bruce Arena has poured cold water on this by saying:
“We’re not interested. Landon will be back here [...]

Varied fare at the Lane.
We played our best half of football this season champagne and caviare stuff, but the second half was more warm beer and a ploughman’s. Everton inevitably came back at us from 2-0 down after half time. We just about had the strength to survive although in the end we were a little fortunate that they didn’t take their chances.
We saw the best and worse of

David Moyes believes Leighton Baines is the ideal replacement for Ashley Cole with Wayne Bridge unavailable for England.
Baines has been called up to Fabio Capello’s Three Lions squad for Wednesday’s friendly with Egypt and Toffees chief Moyes is sure that Baines can offer similar attributes to that of injured full-back Cole.
Moyes said: “Ashley Cole is [...]
