Barnsley 2-1 Forest

Yep, we saw that coming. Really, I think we did. Robins says it wasn’t a surprise, and a whole host of you predicted it. Against the best teams we play well, and that includes last night. Anyway, it wasn’t a perfect performance, largely due to the dangers of Forest. But everyone did their job, and [...]

Is that it for automatic?

Barnsley – 2
Nottingham Forest – 1
I have a proper sulk on me still, I was wanting to calm down a bit before writing this but still find myself a bit downhearted.  Whilst bigger deficits have been overturned in nine games, I am starting to think the gap to second is looking a bit too big [...]

Barnsley Vs Nottingham Forest: Poll Result

So there you have it. A very confident response then from the opposition’s fans indeed.

Well hopefully, if the auto-post function has worked successfully, you can now see the result via this site and it’s syndicating partners. I should be On The Ponty…

Barnsley Vs Nottingham Forest: Poll Update

With just under seven hours to go until kick-off, the latest poll on this site suggests that opinion is strongly backing Forest for an away win.

Nottingham Forest so far have 74% of the votes for a win, compared to just 18% supporting victory for the …

Match Preview Forest Home and Predictions

After three weeks of no Tuesday night game, I’d truly run out of ideas for posts. If just for that I’m glad they are back. And it could well be back with a bang. Saturday was a continuation of our excellent defensive performances of recent days, and the attack was also good; just they couldn’t [...]

Barnsley Vs Nottingham Forest: Who Will Win?

Forest arrive to Oakwell on the back of five away defeats in a row including games against Preston, Leicester, Doncaster, Coventry and Derby.

Barnsley defender Carl Dickinson is doubtful for the clash, but goalkeeper Luke Steel is available following …

Book review: Brian and Peter: A Right Pair: 21 Years with Clough and Taylor

Oh great – the cynic might think – another book cashing in on the vogue of Clough and Taylor.  I must admit to being a little bit apprehensive. The author – Maurice Edwards – was quick in the prose to place Peter before Brian – but doesn’t in the title. Brian and Peter: A Right Pair.  [...]

Barnsley vs. Forest preview..

Hot on the heels of disappointment in Lancashire, Billy’s ailing-when-travelling boys take a trip to Yorkshire to face Barnsley to try to make amends again.  Indeed, to make recent form seem worse, we’ve got a pretty bad record in general at Oakwell.  We’ve lost on more than half the occasions we’ve played there, although last [...]

Preston thrashing averted, but we still lose..

Preston North End – 3
Nottingham Forest – 2
Well, how on Earth do you sum up that?  Three-nil down at half time after a pathetic, abject and shapeless showing enabled Preston to capitalise with two excellently taken goals and a penalty.  Three nil a half time – and indeed, a performance that warrants it – makes [...]

P.N.E. (Pretty Nearly Embarrassing)

Preston North End 3

Nottingham Forest 2

After the first encounter earlier at the City Ground with Forest coming away with a clinical 3-0 win, LIVE on T.V. the P.N.E. then was Perfectly Nice & Easy.

The re-match at Deepdale was quite a contrasting P.N.E. of Pretty, Nearly Embarrassing.
3-0 in the first half, and could from reports have been more.

Nottingham Forest came out second half and gained back some pride with two goals, and maybe just about retaining the belief that we can pinch an Automatic spot.

This the fifth away defeat in the League on the trot, and Barnsley await this coming Tuesday for Nottingham Forest to stop the away sequence not getting to Six.

Have the wheels fell off?,
Has the bubble burst?
Have the young progressive team run out of steam?
Missing McKenna?
Shorey missed?
Acquisition Committee let the club down?

Many questions to ask, many answers needed, however at this point Nottingham Forest FC have exceeded expectations of many, and until its all over, the questions to be answered now are inappropriate.

Why? because its not over yet!, and the similarities from last season are many, and success of retaining CCC status was achieved, in very much a similar pattern as last season.

Even more uncanny, Forest lost to Burnley 5-0 a year and a day ago, and that day seemed like it was all over.

So its a lofty place we sit, and its not over!

Come On You Reds, time to dig deep and believe!

Notts Forest To Sign New Sponsorship Deal

Nottingham Forest are currently vying for promotion in the Championship and sit 3rd in the table. Notts Forest have fallen considerably from their glory days in the 70’s and 80’s but they are improving. However the chances of them reaching their former success is still a long way off.
Nottingham Forest have just signed a new [...]

Preston North End vs. Forest preview..

Ah, a trip to Deepdale – where the pies apparently are lovely, so I’m looking forward to that at least (if Jon Parkin and Neil Mellor are advocates, they’re clearly hard to resist!).  Billy takes his new charges to his old club and will be keen to get Forest’s away results back on the rails.  [...]

Kenzie not too bad and the FA go a bit mad: news roundup

Firstly the good news: skipper Paul “Kenna” McKenna’s injury does not require surgery and so there is a glimmer of hope that he may return before the season ends (which would be especially useful if we end up in the dreaded play-offs).

In the meantime, the sponsorship deal with Victor Chandler has been extended by two [...]

Matchday Memories: Forest v Celtic, 1983

…The most astonishing thing is there’s about 20 Celtic fans climbing the floodlight pylon, not out of malice, but to get a better view. The astonishing part is they’re wearing shorts and short-sleeved shirts. Absolute loonies!…
