Mexico outlines ambitious friendly schedule before World Cup

FeMexFut National Team Secretay General Nestor de la Torre announced an ambitious schedule for Mexico.

¨The purpose of this is to do two things: To decide which players will be on the final roster and to have the team come into the World Cup in top form,¨ said de la Torre in Mexico City on Thursday.

The first leg of their tour will be much of a snooze fest as they will play against lesser profile teams, including reigning Oceania champs and World Cup side new Zealand.

The second half of the tour will consist of some heavyweights the likes of Portugal, England, and reigning world champions Italy.

Mexico´s Schedule

Feb. 24 Bolivia Candlestick Park (San Francisco)
Mar. 3 New Zealand Stanford Stadium (Palo Alto)
Mar 17 TBA
Mar 24 Iceland TBA (North Carolina)

May 7 Ecuador Meadowlands (East Rutherford, NJ)
May 10 Senegal Soldier Field (Chicago)
May 13 TBA Houston
May 16 Chile Estadio Azteca
May 24 England Wembley Stadium
May 26 Netherlands TBA (Germany)
May 30 Portugal TBA

June 3 Italy TBA (Belgium)

Para el 16 de mayo en el Estadio Azteca se jugará ante Chile, el 24 de mayo ante Inglaterra en Londres, el 26 ante Holanda en tierras germanas y el 3 de junio contra Italia en Bélgica.
